Privacy Policy

Your data stays on your device

FlashMint is a flashcard study app. We built it to be private by design: your decks, cards, study history, streaks, and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not require an account, and we do not collect, sell, or share personal information.

What We Store

• All decks, cards, study progress, and preferences are saved only on your device (in local app storage).
• There is no sign-in, no account, and no email required to use the app.
• We do not use advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking SDKs.
• We do not track your location or read your contacts.

AI Card Generation

FlashMint offers an optional AI-assisted card generation feature in some versions of the app. When you choose to use it, the topic, text, or image you submit is sent over a secure connection to our processing backend, which forwards it to a third-party AI provider (Google Gemini) solely to generate flashcards and return them to you.

• This only happens when you actively trigger AI generation — it is never automatic.
• We do not store your submitted text or images on our servers, and we do not use them to build a profile of you or for advertising.
• If the AI feature is not present in your version of the app, no card content ever leaves your device.

Children's Privacy

FlashMint is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13, consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Data Deletion

Because your data lives on your device, uninstalling the app removes it. You can also delete individual decks and cards at any time from within the app.

Third-Party Services

Aside from the optional AI generation backend described above, FlashMint does not integrate ads, analytics, or third-party tracking services.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy is ever updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Substantive changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
